The alternative transit center plan — currently being pushed by council-member Ed Balico — consists of a convention center on top of a parking garage. The designers of the plan (George Szabo and Associates) label it as a big box solution.

jeff, thanks for posting. i’d like to point out one of the obvious negatives,the way the bay trail is diverted away from the bay and through the “plaza”/bus drop off zone. Who wants to take a walk along the bay trail only to be diverted past a row of idling diesel busses?
