Hercules Education Foundation to hold kickoff meeting

The fledgling Hercules Education Foundation will hold an introductory meeting Thursday night. The public is invited.

Founded last month, the private nonprofit corporation will raise funds to supplement programs in public schools serving Hercules children and will consult with cultural groups, Hercules officials, parents, teachers, school administrators, students and business leaders.

The foundation’s officers are Ed Sharp, president; Chester Stevens, vice president; and Donald Kuehne, secretary. The fourth member of the board of directors is Guy “Zak” Zakrevsky, principal at Hercules Middle/High School.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Hercules Library conference room, 109 Civic Drive at Sycamore Avenue.
