City Council Meeting Tonight
— by Jeffrey Wisniewski — 22 July 2008 — Comments Off
The meetings in August will be canceled so this last City Council meeting of the summer — 7pm @ City Hall — is a bit beefy.
- First and foremost, the Waterfront Now initiative is being presented to the Council, and staff is recommending that the Council adopt the plan on receipt, sweeping the election under the rug.
- The City will spend three-quarters of a million dollars studying building a sports complex, but the location is not specific. (My hunch is that it would be on the land north of Highway 4.)
- The Council acting as the Redevelopment Agency will vote to spend money for the construction of the BART replacement parking facility.
- The Agency will also hire GL Szabo to help design the Civic Center project, although my guess is a shoreline parking garage is not a part of the plans.
- And the Agency will also vote to continue the design work of Sycamore Downtown.
The complete agenda is available on the City’s website.
