Actually, the initial objections by Union Pacific to placing the station on the curve were quickly resolved, and all parties have agreed on its location farther to the north for several years. The reasons for hiring George Szabo and having him design a train station north of the creek remain mysterious, but this was the cause of the last year of delay, not in any way even intended as a solution to the non-existent problem of train station location.
