Times: West Contra Costa schools face triumphs, struggles in bond program

A bond measure passed a few years ago was supposed to secure funds for the reconstruction of Ohlone Elementary, the school for the majority of Waterfront residents. After a more “critical” rebuild project in Richmond arose however, the Hercules school was put on the back-burner, where it remains to this day. All bond funds are now fully allocated and Ohlone finds its place at the back of the line. “Schools currently being fully or partially renovated or scheduled for fixes include El Cerrito High; Pinole Middle; Helms Middle and Dover Elementary in San Pablo; Portola; De Anza, Richmond High, Kennedy High, King, Nystrom and Ford elementaries in Richmond; and Ohlone Elementary in Hercules.”
