Another Skate Park Effort

For the third time in eighteen months, Hercules’ failed skate park is cited in a news article about nearby cities’ efforts, first Pinole and now Richmond… “Hercules opened a skate park in Woodfield Park in 2002 and closed it two years later, citing vandalism, graffiti and accusations of drug use. The location led to its demise, some say, because the park is secluded, away from the street and drew nonskateboarders who committed illegal acts that people blamed on skateboarders.“
