The agenda is relatively packed for Tuesday night’s City Council meeting — 7pm at City Hall — including a whopping $4-million item on the consent calendar.* Some highlights…

  • Commence a lease (5 years at $1800/month) with AT&T to install a cellular tower at the PG&E facility.
  • Spend $62k on lighting design for Sycamore Downtown (formerly Sycamore Main Street).
  • Spend $315k on engineering services related to the relocation of Willow Avenue (in the vicinity of the future Cinema Town and Transit Town).
  • Spend $38k on traffic-related studies for New Town Center.
  • Apply for grant funds under Measure WW park bond.
  • Execute an agreement with construction management (CM) firm for Sycamore Downtown for $4 million. (The total cost of construction is estimated to be $56.5 million.)
  • Spend $150k on engineering studies related to the Pinole/Hercules wastewater treatment facility.

There will be a public hearing on merging the Library and Community Services commissions. (A good idea.)

The City Council — acting as the Redevelopment Agency — will spend $150k on environmental consulting services for Waterfront-related projects and $34k on economic analyses for the Sycamore Crossing project (formerly Penterra Poe).

The complete agenda is available on the City’s website.

* The purpose of the consent calendar, per the City Clerk: “The Consent Calendar consists of items that are considered to be routine and are recommended for approval. These items may be acted upon and approved by one motion of the City Council. However, individual items may be removed from the Consent Calendar, for discussion, by individual Council Members wishing to consider the matter separately.”
