Community meeting to launch Hercules creek plan
By Tom LochnerCOMMUNITY MEETING TO LAUNCH CREEK VISION QUEST: A vision plan for the Refugio Creek watershed will be the subject of a Hercules community meeting Wednesday.
It will be the first in a series of community meetings involving local officials and creek experts. Discussion topics will include wetlands and water quality; fish and wildlife; flood management; creek bank stability; recreation and access; and parkway enhancement.
Much of Hercules is in the watershed of Refugio Creek, which begins near the easternmost tip of the city and flows into San Pablo Bay. Refugio Valley Road parallels the creek for much of its course.
The “kick-off” meeting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hercules Library, 109 Civic Drive.
