Cops On Bikes

It was not Berkeley or Oakland, or even Emeryville, but in El Cerrito that a series of cops on bikes (four in total) caught my attention yesterday morning. It got me thinking about how the Waterfront will be patrolled when the rail and ferry terminals are up and running, when small shops line the streets along Bayfront Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue, when the streets and sidewalks are filled with pedestrians, as well when all the planned development in what will become New Town Center comes alive, on both sides of I-80 and along a Willow Avenue reborn. With a lot more foot traffic around Hercules, will we see cops out of their cars, and riding bikes?
