- A Hercules resident (and former Library commissioner) asks Gary Bogue, Times’ outdoor columnist… “Is there anything we can do about the wild turkeys near our home in Hercules? They leave their droppings all over our sidewalks, peck at our Jacuzzi house, and drive our dog crazy with their incessant noise (gobbling).” There is probably some space around the waterfront.
- And Richmond may follow Hercules’ lead… “Plastic foam food containers could be barred from Richmond as early as summer. [...] If the city passes the ban, Richmond would join others with similar bans, including Hercules, Pittsburg, Berkeley and Oakland.“

Re wild turkeys it doesn’t help with local residents feeding them! Some in Promenade have apparently been feeding them bread crumbs. Of course this will bring them back, affect their dietsn and possibly harm their own ability to forage.
