Intermodal Station Partial Rendering

A partial view of the intermodal station is shown in this AndersonPacific rendering (released at Monday’s workshop) of the view towards Bayfront Boulevard from the future Bayfront Bridge…

There is a perceived effort to make the station recall the look of a train shed (e.g., vaguely reminiscent of the back shell of Estació de França in Barcelona), however its design — and especially the tower — clashes with the architecture of the waterfront overall. It is a modern, industrial building in a traditional setting. (Please note that the red-lettered H E R C U L E S is not shown in this rendering, and it makes it that much more palatable.)

Note that in this rendering the station is mostly obscured by the foreground activities. It’s nicely tucked away in the back where it’s hard to see clearly.
Bad design looks best when hidden.
Interestingly on Monday night there was a computer generated (CG) image of the exact same viewpoint. In that CG image the bridges and landscape walls all had the same conservative 1991 “modern” brick aesthetic that matched the station. The bridges did not have this nice traditional look.
Is the rendering Jeff is showing here the old bridge design?
