There is a public hearing on the rezoning of the Railroad Avenue live-works Monday evening…
Today, the 15 units, developed by David Cury around 2004 on the west side of Railroad Avenue between Bayfront Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue, have commercial tenants such as real estate and insurance offices, consultants, an event planner, various studios and one restaurant. At least one commercial space is vacant.

At a July 1 neighborhood meeting, the city proposed 19 additional allowable uses and residents proposed several more. They include art supply, bakery, barber, bicycle shop, bookstore, stationery, candy store, clothing, computer sale and service, copy center, florist and gift shop, hair salon, hardware, hobby and crafts, ice cream parlor, jewelry, locksmith, luggage, nail salon, pet shop and grooming, restaurant, shoe repair, sporting goods, toy stores, tutoring and wine store.
