Balico: Rename Bayfront Boulevard

— by Jeffrey Wisniewski — 15 October 2009 — 7 comments below »

Councilmember Ed Balico demanded that Bayfront Boulevard be renamed in order to increase property values at the last City Council meeting (in a discussion on the design of the intermodal station). Balico offered Waterfront Drive as being “more appealing.” (At ~0:25, Balico says that “it has to be changed.”)

The argument that “waterfront” property is more valuable than “bayfront” property remains outstanding.

Who does he think he is? Demanding? His delusions of grandeur seem to be increasing!

Jeff, I demand you now call this site Baywatch. Cue cheesy 80′s music. I’m getting my popcorn. The drama is on!

Yeah, that’s real important that we change the street name because OF COURSE it will increase the property value.

Come on, Mr. Balico, more important things here to focus in on.

    Oh yes, demand?
How about WE demand more from you and the rest of our elected public servants?
