Times: Hercules expected to enter new wastewater deal

— by Jeffrey Wisniewski — 10 March 2010 — Comments Off

This is great news, albeit costly. The next step will be convincing Pinole to join the switch to WCWD (and then the existing facility could be removed, and the site’s value could be redeemed)… “In a March 5 letter, Hercules City Manager Nelson Oliva said he anticipates recommending to his City Council within the next few weeks that Hercules send its wastewater to the West County Wastewater District’s plant in Richmond. [...] Pinole officials have expressed bafflement over what they see as Hercules’ favoring of a West County solution. ‘I’m curious. I’m an engineer,’ Pinole Public Works Director Dean Allison told his council. ‘I want to know, have we missed something? Is there something out there we’re not seeing?’” Yes; yes there is.
