Farmers Market Has New Look, Opens Saturday

Aside from the farmers market being wisely relocated to the site of Market Hall — which will result in a much more walkable market (the Home Depot parking lot had been a poor location) — the farmers market will also feature revamped marketing this year, ostensibly courtesy of the developers of Market Town (Red Barn), who contracted with an arts firm to design the website, logos and graphics for the interim Market Hall.
The arts firm also developed an updated marketing scheme for the relocated farmers market, borrowing the common phrase “buy locally” and pairing it with their Market Hall design to create a unique, splendid brand for the Hercules farmers market…

The first sign installed (a variant of the tomato image above) suggests that “Market Hall” will not consume the farmers market entirely (from a marketing/branding perspective), however an alternative name (if even colloquial) for the “Hercules Certified Farmers Market” is not necessarily a bad thing.
The farmers market starts this Saturday, May 1, is open from 3:30 to 7pm, and runs through late October.
On a related note, Market Hall has updated its “What’s cooking” calendar. Food vendors for the grand opening this weekend will include Mexican, BBQ, Southern, and iced cream.
