School Bond Measure Passes

Measure D — the WCCUSD bond measure that would pay for school repair and construction (including a science lab at Hercules Middle/High) — passed last night with 62 percent of the vote (619 of 628 precincts reporting; 55 percent was needed). The property tax amounts to approximately “$48 per $100,000 of assessed valuation.

It is difficult to argue or vote against funding schools, however it would be appreciated if the demonstrably-incapable school district spent the money wisely, i.e, retained at least a shred of accountability.
