Is Don Kuehne who we think he is?

Well-placed sources have informed me that the wildly disappointing councilmember Don Kuehne is not actually Don Kuehne — at least not the Don Kuehne we thought we knew (and foolishly voted for) — but someone that just looks and talks like Don Kuehne.

The evidence these sources have provided, however brief, is overwhelming…

Original Don Kuehne = doesn’t suck
Zombie Don Kuehne = sucks balls

I told you.

    Kuehne ran on “change”.

But he has done next to NOTHING to slow down the conflict-of-interest juggernaut that is the current city leadership.
True, he is only one vote, but he could use his position on the council as a bully pulpit.
Instead, he votes in lock-step with the other councilmembers.

Maybe if at least one other “outsider” is elected this November, like Romero or de Vera or Delgado, Kuehne will have an ally and find his voice as part of a thinking opposition to the entrenched, ethically challenged officials.

Maybe, if TWO non-incumbents are elected, Kuehne can serve as the third vote for a quorum of elected officials who will impose badly needed ethical standards on the conduct of city officials.
