Sala Restaurant Poll

— by Jeffrey Wisniewski — 6 July 2010 — 4 comments below »

Sala Restaurant opens this Friday in the restored historic Civic Arts Building on Railroad Avenue. It has been a long road traveled, but the establishment is the second restaurant (no website yet) in the Waterfront.

Please note that this is neither a scientific poll nor a service I’m providing for the restaurant (like some moonlighting off-duty cop).

UPDATE (7/8) — Sala now has a live website, however neither the menu nor hours are available. (They open tomorrow.)

Probably. However on principal I should boycott the “sit down restaurant’ solely on the incessant time consuming comments from the Council during the Home Depot / Lowes tribulations.

This poll is a little tricky in that it does not ask if we will go, but wants us to know in advance of how often. I have no idea what the menu or prices, service or quality of food will be at this time. I checked monthly but for all I know I could go once and hate it and never go again or I could love it and go weekly. Ask us again in a couple of months!

Most likely, if for no other reason than to see where $1.7million (that we know of???) of RDA funds were spent!!!

Tea Party and husband went to Sala Restaurant recently. About 100 other people were enjoying the restaurant. Maybe about 1,000 people have been there since it opened. The only excessive noise on the patio was the passing trains. Otherwise, it was a peaceful experience.

So Tea Party is calling out the “vuvuzelas” (all hot air and noise, and no substance) who live in the Historical Homes and opposed the opening of the restaurant. There were no loud drunks, there was no excessive noise, there was no traffic jams, etc. These NIMBYs and BANANAs need to offer the residents of Hercules an apology. Consider that initially they received little, if any support, from other Herculeans. Your cause was ego-centric and a waste of time to everyone. Apologize now!
