Joe Eddy McDonald on a free press

Have you noticed the Joe Eddy McDonald reelection campaign yard signs? The slogan: “Delivering Leadership and Positive Results.” I don’t know which word is more comical — positive or results — but it hurts to laugh this hard for this long.
Is McDonald under the impression that the Intermodal Regional Transportation System Facility Hub has been built already — like some sort of phantom hub? (Scooby snacks, anyone?)
Anyway, Joe Eddy on the importance of journalism in today’s society…
Change matters.

The first thing we do is “xxx” all the lawyers.
Speaking of campaign signs…did you notice that last weekend, campaign signs appeared on public property for Mr Delgado (Council), Mr Kelly (Fire Board) and Mr Peterson (District Attorney). All have been removed.
Were they in violation of the City Sign Ordinance/Campaign signs? Maybe the ordinance is too complex. But wait! All three of the gentlemen mentioned are lawyers!
Were Joe Eddy and Valsted signs left up?
Let us all remember when MacDonald was appointed Mayor by the council. He started with a bag-piper celebration, a break for cake and punch and then brought the meeting back to order. The first thing he said was “i don’t want any trouble” and the meeting and following meetings when he was mayor lasted approx. 1 1/2 hrs and no discussion on any consent calendar issues. MacDonald can not think for himself and has always depended on Oliva and Cabral to get him thru a meeting. I’ve attendend several meetings where he sat as our representive on the JPA (wastewater treatment plant) with Pinole and he did not give any indication he even knew what was going on. He ate the free lunch the city provided and said nothing. He never has given a full report on that issue or the bond oversight commitee for the school district in which he was charged by the council to oversee. What exactly has he done that he is so proud of?
Ms Keeffe…I did not see any Valstad or MacDonald signs on PUBLIC property. Maybe they understand the sign ordinance. Obviously the lawyers do not.
maybe you can be more specific regarding your allegations, shakespear.
what public property are you referring to?
Shakespear is absolutely correct (1) signs advertising my candidacy were in fact improperly placed on public property, both in the wrong places(s) and before the date when these are allowed; and (2) these were removed by the City’s Code Enforcement Officer. The signs were given to homeowners who requested them. I personally delivered these signs to the involved homeowner(s); and I personally failed to advise this homeowner of the limitations as to time and place relating to displaying the signs. My bad.
Bill Kelly
You are all full of crap!
