John Delgado’s Candidate Statement

John Delgado’s candidate statement reads more like a platform, and less like a biographical blurb, than the other three candidates’ statements (Valstad, McDonald, and de Vera), in general. Delgado states that he wants the City to “remain focused on completing the Waterfront.”

I am voting for John Delgado and Myrna de Vera this November as I think the two incumbents are really incompetent. However, John Delgado to me was the lesser of two evils. In fairness to the other three, they have served the communities in Hercules for years. That is why he has nothing to put but his platform. John ran two years ago and has not done anything since for Hercules. John is a prosecutor and a father of two small kids. I am really keeping my fingers crossed that he will have time for the people of Hercules if he gets elected. I am hoping that he will diligently prepare himself for the issues in front of the council and make well thought of decisions. Otherwise, he will just become like the rest of the council members who just follow Ed Balico and/or Nelson Oliva’s lead and maneuvers.
From what I’ve seen of her in official and unofficial capacities (around town), de Vera seems like a more typical politician to me than Delgado. I fear she could be the one to fall into the Balico/Oliva trap, not Delgado.
How did an Ad for Meg Whitman show up on this blog? Will there be an ad for Gerry Brown to make things fair?
@ Susan Keeffe — I do not control the content of the ads. The About page has more information.
