Times Reader: Great Reporting

A Hercules resident offers effusive praise for Tom Lochner… “I nominate Times journalist Tom Lochner [for Hercules mayor]. Lochner’s Pulitzer-grade reporting on Hercules’ political ‘Acts of Awful’ is the single most important reason Hercules has been able to overthrow a disastrous City Council and city manager. His reporting is the single most important reason Hercules can hope for a better future. Lochner is my hero and has been the hero of Hercules at least since his coverage on the attempted ravishing of Franklin Canyon in 2004.“

Jeff – I have to agree 100%. Tom Lochner deserves Pulitzer Prize consideration for the work he has done over the last two years in exposing the waste and chicanery in our City’s government.
This is my original, unedited comment on Tom Lochner:
With the vanquishment in November of Kris Valstad and Joe Eddy McDonald, and the for-family-reasons-only resignation on Jan. 11 of Ed Balico, Hercules is now in need of a new mayor. I nominate Times journalist Tom Lochner. Lochner’s Pulitzer-grade reporting on Hercules’ political Acts of Awful is the single most important reason Hercules has been able to overthrow a disastrous City Council and city manager. His reporting is the single most important reason Hercules can hope for a better future.
Lochner is my hero and has been the hero of Hercules at least since his coverage on the attempted ravishing of Franklin Canyon in 2004.
He may not have political experience and he does not live in Hercules, but Lochner is the person most responsible for giving Hercules some hope for a future. He has done more for us than anyone, ever.

Glenn,
Great job!!!!! He’s my hero too and I’ve told him so! We can and should nominate him for that Pulitzer when everything is done!
Take that, Frank Batara!
