Tom Lochner reports:
The three who have taken out papers are Dan Romero, Sherry McCoy and Christopher Tallerico.
Romero is a longtime city government watchdog and a member of the executive committee of Hercules Recall, which is sponsoring a drive to recall Mayor Joanne Ward and Councilman Don Kuehne.
McCoy is the chairperson of the Hercules Planning Commission.
Tallerico is a former Richmond resident and former member of the Richmond Police Commission who once ran unsuccessfully for Richmond City Council.
Tallerico had withdrawn from the Richmond city council race in 2008.

Are McCoy and Tallerico Hercules residents? I think that is important…to have a vested interest in the success of this city.
Candidates must by law be Hercules residents. These candidates are running for Balico’s position since he resigned. Until the Council takes the formal step of calling the additional Recall election which they will do on March 8, candidates for Kuhene and Ward’s position cannot file. Those candidates must state specifically which person, Ward or Kuehne, they wish to replace.
I support Dan Romero, who was instrumental in the recall success campaign. I don’t recognize the other names in that City wide movement. We need people who are interested in reform, and open local government. Go Dan!
I also support Dan Romero. Not only has he been a resident for many years, he has been involved with the community and has attended almost all City Council meetings. He is reasonable, very knowledgeable about Hercules and someone I believe will do a good job representing our City. He has been an excellent Recall Leadership team member – always there when we needed him to be which is why we selected him as our spokesperson with the media. I am delighted he is running to fill Balico’s seat.
I think Romero would be my choice as well. I’m kind if skeptical about someone who was running for city council in another city just a couple of years ago.
The article will explain the circumstances for Tallerico’s resignation from the Richmond Police Commission and withdrawal from the City Council race.

There also is a video that Jeff posted on his link (above). He must have moved to Hercules shortly thereafter as I heard he’s been a resident for about two years.
